What is DStv Extra View?

DStv Extra View allows you to link two or three separate DStv decoders together, but under the same subscription(with an Access Fee for each Extra View decoder). 


This offers amazing value for money and flexibility since it allows you to watch different channels on each of the decoders linked through the extra view set up.


Extra View also allows DStv viewers to record different shows at the same time on each separate decoder.


How DStv Extra View Works

With the DStv extra view set up Decoders are linked together by way of what is referred to as a “heartbeat”. The heartbeat is sent from the primary DStv decoder to the second and/or third DStv decoder/s every 30 seconds. The heartbeat is sent from a RF port via the normal RF cable and received on a RF port. The best option for extra view is to use DStv Explora decoders.
